October LTA 3

We have had such a busy and exciting month! We are now in full school mode with our second month complete. Our classroom has been filled with learning, creativity, and lots of fun!

In ELA, we explored science topics — learning all about magnets and how they stick to different objects. We also discussed what happens at a science fair and brainstormed different topics we could learn about there!

In Math, we focused on adding, subtracting, and multiplying numbers 1–10. We also practiced skip counting and read lots of math-themed books to help us understand these concepts in fun ways.

In Science and Social Studies, we learned about apples, leaves, and pumpkins. We explored how each one grows and the many colors they can be. In Writing, we created stories and informational pieces all about leaves and pumpkins.

Our Specials have been in full swing this month, too! We enjoyed so many exciting activities, including music, Boogie coming, Piedmont Wildlife, and Frankie Friends.

It’s been a wonderful month of learning and growing together — and we’re so excited to see what next month brings!

September LTA 3

  We’ve had a wonderful first month of school! The students have been busy learning all about our classroom routines, rules, and expectations. We’re also learning how to play kindly with friends, take turns, and share — all important parts of building our classroom community. In math, we’ve been working on counting and recognizing numbers, and the children are doing a fantastic job! At the end of September, we started a fun unit on apples! We explored different types of apples and shared our favorites by choosing between red, green, and yellow. In social studies and English language arts, we learned about the Constitution and talked about our rights in kid-friendly ways. We’re excited to continue our apple activities and begin exploring all the wonders of fall — including colorful leaves and pumpkins!

November LTA 3

Lots of growth this month! We are in the full swing of school and are confident in our routines and expectations. This month, we explored history—talking about jobs from the past and imagining jobs of the future. We also learned about Thanksgiving: how it began, how we celebrate it today, and the different ways families celebrate. We enjoyed making a few crafts and coloring sight words each week. We continue to work on a new digraph sound every week as well. In math, we began learning about place value by introducing ones, tens, and hundreds. We will continue to dive deeper into this concept. We have also been practicing skip counting by 10s. We’ve loved playing outside with all our Lemon Tree friends! It was wonderful having families join us for our Thanksgiving activity last week. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This coming month, we will be learning all about traditions!
